It’s time for an update

Shalom Mishpacha,
Comfort My People (CMP) exists for two reasons.
First, we support the work of the believing community in Israel who are sharing the love of Yeshua (Jesus) in the land of Israel. We provide relational and financial support to 12 ministries along with occasional relief assistance to fellow Believers in the Land, who are suffering from immediate circumstances beyond their control.
The second reason makes us unique in the world of global missions; we educate the church to embrace their biblical and historical role in regard to Israel and the Jewish people. Both reasons have their share of challenges, but our partners are shining brightly in reason number one.
Since October 7, 2023 all our partners have been actively involved in collecting and distributing a wide variety of items to sustain daily life and bring relief to struggling families who have lost their jobs, serve full time in the IDF, or have been forced to move as the result of war.
Each of our ministries take creative approaches to share the Gospel so conversations will be nurtured–not cut-off from the onset. Through their shared history, current events, and sensitivity, a growing number of Israelis are coming to faith in Jesus. One of the first things they learn is that Jesus was a Jew and they don’t need to renounce their Jewish identity to follow Him.
The Israeli citizens and the IDF were caught off guard by their October 7th invasion. The Army bases were not prepared for the rapid deployment of soldiers. The Messianic community turned the opportunity into a call to action and began collecting food, clothing, bedding and hygiene products, which were essential for the soldiers and began ministry to the wives and children left behind. The first responders– medics, and ambulance drivers–are volunteers in Israel and were immediately on call. They became victims of what they saw and in need of compassionate care due to the savagery they witnessed. Suicide became an immediate reality.
Throughout the nation our partners began preparing meals and delivering them to Army bases. Their rapid response for the nation’s survival–along with the courageous service of Messianic men and women soldiers, gave credibility to their message of God’s love in Yeshua.
It is impossible to calculate how many conversations took place and Bibles passed out, but arguments about who Jesus is became a non-issue. The presence of God was the topic of conversation throughout the Land in the face of great danger and hardship.
Fighting for the survival of the Nation is nothing new to Israelis,
but something very sinister arose that was unexpected and painful.
Within days after the barbaric attack on October 7, it seemed the whole world unraveled in an epidemic of hatred against Israel and Jews everywhere. The “friends” and support they had previously counted on seemed to vanish and they felt very much alone. Israel was accused of genocide, forced starvation, apartheid, and colonization from every direction. Relatively view voices opposed or even questioned the accusers.
During the hot summer months, it is customary for Israelis to travel. Now it requires great caution. The government warned Israelis that they may not be safe in many nations because of the outbreak of violent protests and assaults. Even the United States was on that list in the wake of the assassination of an Israeli couple on the streets of our Nation’s capital. That was followed by the torching of 15 Jews in Boulder, Colorado, including an 88-year-old woman who was a Holocaust survivor. Incidents of antisemitism rose across the globe like no other time in history.
From the Israeli perspective there is no rational explanation, especially because the enemies that have vowed Israel’s destruction have also vowed to destroy America and Europe. If Israel laid down her weapons, the war would shift to the U.S. shores soon afterwards.
The emotional effect of the accusations against them is also hard to gauge, but it is safe to say that the entire population is suffering from the trauma of war and abandonment.
Does the church play a role in Israel’s future?
Or is Israel simply the stage for end time prophecy to occur before the rapture?
MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT
One of our first ministry partners, Be’ad Chaim, has an added distinction that has brought new challenges to their already sensitive outreach to women facing an unwanted pregnancy.
Abortion is a blight on Israel’s culture. It seems particularly strange for it to even exist in the country where morality and ethics have their origin. However, the “Holy Land,” is not holy, to the disappointment of many tourists, neither is any other nation.
Nevertheless, Israel is singled out for allowing it. It is shameful, but the believing staff of Be’ad Chaim are working hard to remove that option, not politically but through developing caring relationships with women who need to understand that they are carrying their child, not a medical term.
As reservists were called back to military service, the mothers were called to raise their children alone without knowing if, and when, their husbands would return. That left an even bleaker future for a pregnant mother.
Thank God for the counselors of Be’ad Chaim, who are compassionate and spiritually sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. By His leading, they have convinced many women to choose life despite the hardships. They promise the pregnant woman to remain with her throughout the pregnancy. They provide clothing, baby supplies, strollers, changing tables, basinets, and the promise of the counselor’s presence throughout that first challenging year. They welcome women from all walks without any prejudice. They do not evangelize, nor do they hide the reason for their care. It is because of Yeshua’s love for both mother and child that they serve. As a result, many mothers have come to faith.
The decision to bring a child into the world where the future is so uncertain and dangerous is a challenge that counselors deal with more each day. Please pray for their perseverance and unfeigned love that will be the deciding factor for mothers to make the right choice.
Be’ad Chaim is dedicated to exposing abortion for what it is and ending its practice one baby at a time. They are a voice of righteousness in Israel and God has shined His favor upon them.
Shalom and Blessings,
Paul

PRAYER REQUESTS
Pray for Christians in America to become sensitive to God’s heart for Israel and understand their biblical role in God’s redemption story.
Pray for an outpouring of God’s Spirit to Israelis so they will recognize and embrace their Messiah as He is revealed in Scripture, just as the brothers of Joseph recognized him.
Pray for our Brothers and Sisters to be strong and of good courage and never grow weary of well doing. May they serve with confidence, determination, and by the anointing of God share the lifesaving message of Yeshua.
Pray for the Israelis, both Jewish and Arab, to recognize their shared journey of tears in the Land where the nations surrounding them have indiscriminately sworn to their destruction.
Pray for our efforts to bring healing to the nation through the partners we support.
