The Mystery Revealed Part One

June 1, 2026

Have you ever wondered about the Jewish people?

They make up only .2% of the world’s population though they have been around for over four thousand years. There is no other people group with similar statistics, yet the Jewish population has not grown accordingly. Nevertheless, they always seem to be in the News. And everyone seems to be mad at them.

By the end of WWII, one-third of them were wiped off the planet, yet they are still here.

There is a bit of intrigue regarding the Jewish people in Christian circles that remains unresolved, regarding why they still exist. Some say it’s in one of God’s “mysterious ways” categories.

Among the Jews there are volumes written to explain why they are still here, but few are satisfying.

The Bible is our only source of discovering why, but we must take the risk of believing what it says because it is not a textbook explanation. We need to go beyond the rational, which sounds arrogant and inexcusable, but it’s not.

The unbeliever does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him. And he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14

To understand the Jew, we enter the conversation at a metaphysical level. That shouldn’t be spooky, it is part of our human makeup. God is Spirit, God is Love, God is Life. These are metaphysical terms. So is the term blessing. (Genesis 12:3)

On one side of the spectrum, Jews are the most rational of people, which made them successful in math, science, and finances over time. On the other side, there are likely more Jewish hippies per capita, than any other ethnic group. Without God, the metaphysical world is intriguing and attractive, but for Israel, it proved to be dangerous. Historically it led them to tragic outcomes.

“For You have forsaken Your people, the house of Jacob,
Because they are filled with eastern ways.”  Isaiah 2:6

The Jews are most noted for their survival, in which they played a limited role. They (we) are here because God made them an eternal people. (Jeremiah 31:35, 36) That means that God’s intention for the Jewish people (Israel) is yet to be fulfilled. It has nothing to do with superiority, nor partiality. (Acts 10:34)

Israel’s biblical history is a painful one. I often cringe when I read it. I used to make excuses for my people’s behavior, saying “It’s because they didn’t have Jesus yet,” but that didn’t fit the narrative. Then I blamed the Christians because of their long history of persecution against them. But that is only part of the reason.

Now I understand that I was missing God’s original goal. We were called to be a blessing to all the families of the earth. Since everyone who was not a descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was considered a Gentile, the blessing was intended to spread into the Gentile world freely and thoroughly, like cream cheese on a bagel.

I suggest looking at a map of the Middle East. Your first challenge is to find tiny Israel. Then count how many nations surround them. They are their neighbors yet entirely Muslim, and each one has agreed at some time in recent history, that Israel doesn’t belong. If the blessing of Abraham was embraced and passed on, it would seem likely that their neighbors would have become their allies.

The first episode of the sons of Jacob upon entering the Gentile world became a bloody one. It happened in the city of Shechem, where the son of the King raped the daughter of Jacob, her brothers became incensed and killed all the men of that city. When Jacob learned of it, he freaked.

“You have troubled me by making me obnoxious among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites; and since I am few in number, they will gather themselves together against me and kill me. I shall be destroyed, my household and I. Genesis 34:30

Thus, began what Ezekiel would call the “ancient enmity.”

To this day, the city of Shechem has been at enmity with the sons of Jacob. Within a few decades, the descendants of Jacob would become slaves of Egypt for about four centuries and then journey for forty years in the wilderness.

During that period God codified the blessing through Moses. In brief they were commanded to love God with all their heart and souls and to love their neighbor as themselves. He also prophesied of their failure because they needed to have their hearts circumcised. As time went on, the Bible records only scattered episodes of Jews and Gentiles living in peace with each other. The results were always powerful and heartwarming as if we were designed for them.

It wasn’t until Jesus ascended, that His disciples went on display. As we read the book of Acts, we become witness to the blessing functioning as God intended.

The Gentiles observed these Jewish men and women serving each other in brotherly love under the anointing of God and they were provoked. They wanted what these Jews had, which made sense because it was long overdue.

However, it was a shock to the disciples until they searched the scriptures and the Holy Spirit revealed to them that the Gentiles had full rights to receive what the Jews had been freely offered: salvation in Jesus. This is the essence of the blessing, which the prophet Isaiah called Light.

“For so the Lord has commanded us:
‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles,
That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 13:47

This seemed like new information to the Jewish disciples, but it wasn’t. Peter preached it in his second sermon.

You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Act 3:25

I must point out that Peter was speaking to a crowd of Jewish men and women. Throughout their history they were assigned the job of delivering the blessing. Yes, Jesus is THE SEED, but he doesn’t relieve the Jews of their duty. But first they must be born again.

Originally the promise was called the blessing, later the “light,” then “the eternal purpose.” It was always in God’s mind, and it was always His intention for people to inhabit the land, to live in peace, and be fruitful. Knowing what was yet future, He proclaimed an invitation for all to join Him as assistants for the greatest reclamation event in the Universe. The script was written in the blood of Jesus and His Spirit poured out upon those who chose to follow Him.

Against all the odds, the Jewish and Gentile believers became so successful that the gospel reached all of Asia in record speed without any media or technology. God described His church as “one new man, created by Jesus on the cross.

Our problem is that which was once concealed and then revealed has been concealed again for almost 2000 years.

We have no time to cast blame, nor is it time to create new strategies. For those interested in world redemption, God has prepared the way. The gospel began in Israel, but never should it have ended there. To make my point, we must see spiritually that the enemy is at the helm of this big cruise ship and his destination

is not the Bahamas.

If you are still wondering about why the Jews remain, here is your answer.

“His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Ephesians 3:10,11

It is also why the enemy has taken hostage the message that Jesus created 2000 years ago on the cross.

“He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups.” Ephesians 2:14

The devil is a Bible scholar. He believes it and trembles, especially regarding the one new man. When Jews and Gentiles become one in spirit, the demonic world takes notice and the gates of hell rattle on their hinges. That is why God made promises to the Jews that they would always be a people. But the devil believes that if he can annihilate them, the one new man perishes and he conquers. He always uses people to do his will. He learned that from observing God. Don’t let him use you as a pawn of hatred against Israel and the Jewish people. You are kicking against the goads.

Shalom and blessings,
